State of the Association – February 2017

Allie Williams, IOM
Executive Director, CRA

The Corporate Responsibility Association’s strategic planning Board of Advisors’ retreat was held on February 2-3 in Baltimore, Maryland.

As the executive director of the CRA, I am happy to report that the state of the association is strong. We continue to grow and provide exceptional opportunities for our members through networking, education, thought leadership engagement and open dialogue to provide access to peer to peer interactions and mentoring.

Beginning soon, the CRA website will host content and drive resources to a new “member’s only area”. In these sections, CRA members will find additional resources related to our practitioner led goals to advance the power of business to ensure a sustainable future. Stay tuned for a link to complete a membership profile, as we will invite each member company to provide, corporate logo, CSR/Sustainability report links, Awards, Thought Leadership Council (TLC) engagement and your willingness to list a few specialties so that you can help mentor newer practitioners.

Our TLC’s continue to thrive and deliver a valuable source of information to the membership. Each TLC is chaired or co-chaired by experts in the fields of:

Ratings & Rankings;
Responsible Supply Chain Management;
Brand & Reputation Management, and;
Professional Development.

These chairs deliver agendas and minutes for each monthly call and count on the members of each council for participation and delivery of each important discussion. Each TLC page of the website will have rich content, How to’s, case studies, and benchmarks for sharing and addition information. If you are considering engagement in a TLC and are a member of the CRA – please connect with me and we will find you a great spot.

Our Webinar series is in full swing and we are lining up industry leaders to education us on many issues related to CRS best practices. These webinars are held monthly and you can view upcoming and archived presentations on the CRA website.

In the March/April Issue of CR Magazinethe 18th annual 100 Best Corporate Citizens List will be published. Last year, 36 of the 100 companies were CRA Members. That’s up from 19 the prior year. Companies who belong to the CRA are doing better and it shows. If your company is not a member, it’s time to get involved.

CR Magazine‘s COMMIT!Forum will be held on October 11-12 at the all new MGM National Harbor in National Harbor Maryland. Your CRA membership entitles you to complementary passes and we look forward to seeing so many talented CSR leaders with us in the fall.

2017 is sure to be a special year for the CRA and our member companies – We thank you for your generous support.

If your corporation or company, is not a member, or your providers & suppliers are not engaged with us, we have a tremendous opportunity to make an impact and encourage corporate responsibility into the overall business strategy.

Together, we can Network * Learn * Advance.
